Startup Biz Info for developers: API and MCP fields
Startup Biz Info can be driven from your own code or from an AI assistant. You can search every launch, read the leaderboards and founder stories, submit a product from its website address, edit your listing and fetch a checkout link for a paid launch. The REST API and the MCP server offer the same actions under the same rules.

Using an AI assistant
Use https://startupbizinfo.com/mcp as the address of a custom connector or MCP server in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code or any MCP client. You might ask “What launched this week in my category?”, “Find alternatives to my competitor” or “Launch my product https://example.com”. Reads work straight away. Your first change opens a browser in the app so you can connect your account. Step-by-step for each app.

House rules
- A paid placement, whether the billboard or a sponsorship, is always labelled paid; the community rankings are made of votes only.
- Every value in an AI draft is backed by a quote from the product's own site; where there is none, the field is left blank and marked, never filled with a guess.
- The prices you read through the API come from the pricing of Startup Biz Info (list_products). They are in US dollar cents and exclude VAT.
- Votes are for people, not programs: nothing you call through the API or MCP server can vote, and only visitors on Startup Biz Info do.
- Paying is always a human step on a checkout page. The API supplies the link and takes no card details at any point.
Questions
- Does Startup Biz Info offer an API?
- Yes. Startup Biz Info has a free REST API at /api/v1 (OpenAPI) and a remote MCP server at /mcp. Anyone can read public data without signing in; submitting and managing your own listings needs your account (OAuth or an API key).
- Is there a charge?
- No charge for the API or the MCP server: both are free within the published rate limits. A paid launch or other purchase is priced on the pricing page.
- Will the AI invent details of my product?
- The draft is built to use only your own website. Facts it cannot verify there stay blank and marked, and you can review and change every field before anything goes live.
- Does the AI assistant get to vote or pay for me?
- No. Casting votes is for people on the site only, and paying is something you do yourself on a checkout page, opened from the link that the API returns.
- Can Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or VS Code connect to Startup Biz Info?
- Yes. In your app, add the MCP server URL as a custom connector or MCP server. You can read straight away, and the first write opens a browser for connecting your account.
