Homepage of DropPerch

DropPerch is a domain lifecycle monitoring service that checks your domains against their registries daily. It sends one email per state change, with alerts 30, 14, 7 and 1 day before expiry, and alerts for hold, redemption, pending delete and release states. SSL certificate expiry is monitored too, with alerts 14, 7 and 1 day before expiry.

The service queries registries directly via RDAP rather than using cached data, supporting over 1,500 TLDs. Domains you don't own can be watched using public registry records. You can customize which states trigger alerts, and choose between email, Slack, Discord or webhook notifications.

DropPerch is built for domain investors tracking drops, agencies managing client domains across multiple registrars, and in-house teams monitoring their own infrastructure domains. A single daily digest consolidates all changes by urgency, with no duplicate alerts for the same state.

Questions and answers

Does DropPerch register the domain for me?
No. DropPerch tells you the moment a name is registrable and links straight to a registrar. A contested drop is won by backorder services bidding in the same second the registry releases it, so DropPerch makes sure you know the window exists.
Why RDAP instead of WHOIS?
RDAP is ICANN's replacement for WHOIS, specified in RFC 9083. It returns structured JSON with explicit status codes, so a state like redemptionPeriod is machine-readable instead of being parsed out of free text that differs at every registrar.
Which extensions are supported?
Any TLD in the IANA bootstrap registry that publishes an RDAP endpoint, which is more than 1,500 today. The extension is checked against the bootstrap and then actually looked up when you add a domain, so support is verified rather than assumed from a list.
How often is a domain checked?
Every 24 hours once it is expiring, on hold, in redemption or pending delete, and weekly while it is far from expiry. The sweep runs at 07:17 UTC. On a paid plan, names in pending delete are re-checked every hour, so a release is caught within the hour.
Can I watch a domain I don't own?
Yes. Registry records are public, read-only data, so watching a name needs no relationship with it and no permission from whoever holds it.
