How do I manage my email and account data?

Turn notices on or off, change your sign-in email, download everything we hold and close your account yourself.

Updated

Manage notification emails

Each notice email contains an unsubscribe option for that category. You can also visit /account/notifications to review every notice type and set its frequency.

Certain messages are mandatory: receipts, refunds, payment issues, listing suspensions and security alerts. These cannot be turned off.

Update your sign-in address

Open /account/email, enter the new address and your password. We email your current address and the new one: press the button in both emails. Once both are confirmed, the sign-in email changes, other browsers are signed out and the old address gets a confirmation. Lost access to your current inbox? Send a request from /help and we check it is you.

Delete your account or remove your data

You close your account yourself at /account/privacy: choose 'Close your account', read what will happen, then confirm with your sign-in email and password. The result: listings unpublished, personal data removed, signed out everywhere. It is final, and paid listings are not refunded (your statutory rights are not affected).

Good to know: open /account/privacy and download the full archive of what we store about you.

Invoices stay on file for the period the law requires. See /privacy for how we handle personal data.

Questions people ask

Can I turn off payment and security emails?
No. Receipts, refunds, payment problems, listing holds and security notices are always sent to you.
What happens to my invoices if I delete my account?
Invoices are retained for as long as the law requires, even after your account is closed.
How long does account closure take?
At /account/privacy, 'Close your account' does it once you confirm with your sign-in email and password: listings unpublished, personal data removed, invoices kept as the law requires. There is no undo.
